Fuel Leaks

C0AV7295As part of a Government initiative to reduce pollution from diesel engines and allow the introduction of new engine technology into Australia it was proposed to reduce sulphur content in diesel fuel from 5,000 parts per million (PPM) to less than 50 PPM.

The combination of old age on the existing seals and O rings and Low Sulphur Diesel can lead to premature seal and O ring failure, resulting in fuel leaks.
The original seals were made of nitrile rubber whereas the later ones are constructed of (FKM) or viton. These later type seals are not affected by the new generation of diesel fuel.

If your diesel shows signs of leaking seals there are two options available.

OPTION 1
  1. We offer an exchange fuel pump service, or,
  2. A drive in drive out service where we remove the fuel pump from the engine, service your own fuel pump replacing all seals and any worn parts where necessary. Fit fuel pump to engine, set timing to manufacturers recommendations and test drive vehicle.

OPTION 2 We would require the vehicle for two days ( some models may take a little longer) whilst repairs are performed.

PRICING:
On average repairs can cost anything up to $850 (some models are more expensive). This price includes.
  1. Labour to remove and refit fuel pump from engine.
  2. GST
  3. All repairs are covered by 12 months unlimited K’s warranty.
